COSL News

WHAT’S COSL?

COSL is an annual leadership retreat sponsored by the Georgia Association of Nursing Students (GANS).  COSL stands for the Council Of Student Leaders, which formerly was COSP, the Council of School Presidents.  GANS decided to expand the retreat in 2005 to include school leaders in addition to the presidents in order to reach more students.  The retreat includes breakout sessions with state board members, teambuilding exercises, and a special guest lecture by a leader in the nursing field.

Each year, COSL is held at a different location in Georgia. In 2006, participants visited Banning Mills in Whitesburg.  The 2007 COSL Retreat was held at Jekyll Island. The retreat includes a 2 night stay, meals, registration, and activity fees. The event is completely free (excluding travel) to participating students. Selection is at the discretion of the school advisors. If you are interested in improving your school chapter or further your involvement with GANS, then COSL is the retreat for you. Don’t miss it.

GANS sponsors 2 students from every school to attend.
